4Awesome candies, but misleading photo.  Dec 15, 2008
Frog Fudgies - Wisconsin Cheeseman

I first tasted these bad boys when my wife purchased them from her grand-daughter's school fund-raiser. I HAD to have more!!! So I went online and found them at the Wisconsin Cheeseman site, which is apparently the only place that makes them. I also found them here on Amazon, which linked to the above site. Anyway, there was one review stating that the red tin contained only 22 pieces, while the photo showed 35 pieces. This is true. I verified this by calling the Wisonsin Cheeseman. The lady on the telephone confirmed this. She explained by saying "If you notice in the picture, the frogs are standing up and there is no way we could close the lid." A rather lame explanation, I admit, but that was it. I think they should change the photo in the ad.

With all of that in mind, I STILL placed an order from Amazon because these little guys taste WONDERFUL. Kinda like a girl-scout thin-mint cookie, only less minty and no cookie. Okay, they taste VERY LITTLE like a girl-scout cookie, but you get the idea. The mint is smooth and perfect and the chocolate center is yummy.....not fudgy like a brownie, but fudgy like....well....fudge.

They ARE expensive, but I've noticed that ALL gourmet candies are fairly pricey these days. (Have you priced See's lately?) On the positive side, they were much cheaper than buying them from the school fund-raiser, as you might expect......they cost about a buck apiece there.

Oh.....one more thing. I first intended to buy them directly from the Wisconsin Cheeseman because their website indicated that the shipping was $4 cheaper than on the Amazon site. But when I got down to the checkout page, the shipping was the SAME......another misleading fact by Wisconsin Cheeseman......they really need to update their website. So...I cancelled the order there and placed the order with my old friend, Amazon.com......their service is awesome and they stand behind everything they sell. So I support them whenever possible.

Bottom line......awesome little fudgies.....misleading photo and shipping fees.....adds up to 4 stars instead of 5.
